Our mission is to provide customised training to meet the needs of your business or the individual. This means we can design assessments and training to suit actual business requirements. For example, if a business needs an OHS policy and procedure students will develop one as part of their assessments.
All trainers come directly from industry and are still acting as industry consultants as well as trainers. As part of our training services we offer Free Compliance Health Checks for your business, to make sure you are compling with OHS, Liquor Licensing, Fire safety, Food safety, EEO, Anti-discrimintaion etc. We are not just here to train the students but to help your business grow and remain compliant in our dynamic industry. Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is encouraged for all courses and we make this easy for you to complete. Generally RPL is completed via written questions, a converstaion with your assessor (skype), collection of evidence and even observation at your workplace. We conduct most our training in the workplace or in our CBD training rooms.
Accessing the Victorian Training Guarentee (VTG) - Funding
Serve It Up has a current VTG funding contracting, allowing it to offer government subsidsed training to eligible individuals. Follow this link to check your eligibility http://www.education.vic.gov.au/victorianskillsgateway/students/pages/vtg-eligibility-indicator.aspx
Generally, you are eligible for a government-subsidised training place if you are:
- an Australian citizen
- an Australian Permanent Resident (holder of a permanent visa)
- a New Zealand citizen
and are any of the following:
- under 20 years of age
- seeking to enrol in a Foundation Skills List course (and do not hold a Diploma or above qualification or are receiving core skills training in other sectors)
- seeking to enrol in VCE or VCAL
- seeking to enrol in an apprenticeship
- 20 years and older and ‘upskilling’ by seeking to enrol in a course at a higher level than your existing qualification.
You are eligible to commence a maximum of two subsidised courses at the same qualification level in your lifetime. This restriction applies whether or not you complete the courses. For example, this means if you have already commenced two courses at the Certificate III level, you may only commence courses at the Certificate IV level (or above). This restriction does not apply to courses on the Foundation Skills List or to students recommencing training in the same qualification (at the same or a different provider).
If you are enrolled at a school, you will not be able to receive a government-subsidised training place for a course through the Victorian Training Guarantee, unless you are undertaking the course as part of a School-Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship. The Government supports schools in other ways to offer vocational training to their students, so you should discuss all your options with your school.
Using a government funded place(s) can affect your future ability to use government funding for other courses you may want to complete. Ensure that you chose wisely and use your government funding for the course(s) that is most approprate and most suitable for your perosnal and professional needs.
If enrolling in a dual qualification this will count as your two government funded enrolments for that qualifcation level in your lifetime.
Refer to the Victorian Skills Gateway Website for more ifnromation.
