SIT40416  Certificate IV Hospitality 

We cover the core skills required to get work in hospitality, plus the skills and knowledge you need to be a shift manager or supervisor. The key topics we focus on are bar, cocktail making, speed pouring, beer pouring, coffee making, food and beverage service, beer spirits and wine knowledge, sales and presentation skills, how to open/close/manage a venue & coaching others.

On completion of this qualification you can be awarded 4 certificates to add to your resume; RSA, RSF, First Aid and Certificate IV Hospitality.

Delivery method: Blended: Online Theory and Practical

This delivery method ensures you can continue to study and gain practical experience ready for when hospitality businesses re-open. If you are eligible for Government Funding (Skills First Funding) you do not have to pay any fees, $0.

What's involved:

  • 7 x Practical sessions in our training facility (social distancing in class)
  • 10 x Online theory and assessment modules (using canvas our online learning management system LMS)
  • 36 x service periods in a real workplace 
  • One-on-one support with a mentor trainer and assessor (over the phone or zoom) 
  • Self paced theory and work experience

Average duration 3-7 months

* First aid not inlcuded during the Covid-19 shutdown measures

  

Delivery method: Intensive practical classes

If you are eligible for Government Funding (Skills First Funding) you do not have to pay any fees, $0. 

What's involved:

  • 2 weeks full time face to face classes  
  • 10 x Online assessments (using canvas our online learning management system LMS)
  • Practical sessions in our training facility (social distancing in class)
  • 36 x service periods in a real workplace
  • Self paced learning and work experience and final skills review 
  • One-on-one support with a mentor trainer and assessor (over the phone, zoom or face to face)

Average duration 3-8 months.  

  

Delivery method: Fully Face to Face Option 

If you are eligible for Government Funding (Skills First Funding) you do not have to pay any fees, $0.  

  • 14 face to face classes (4-5 hours weekly) 
  • 10 x Online assessments (using canvas our online learning management system LMS)
  • Practical sessions in our training facility (limit of 10 people in a class at one time) 
  • 36 x service periods in a real workplace - you may need to wait until venues open to complete this last component
  • Self paced learning and work experience
  • One-on-one support with a mentor trainer and assessor (over the phone, zoom or face to face) 

Average duration 7-10 months.
